Auchencheyne Country House

This charming Country House is set in beautiful gardens on a working farm producing organic vegetables as well as breeding cows and sheep. Join the farm tour to find out more! Auchencheyne is set in the beautiful Glencairn valley only 3 miles from the peaceful village of Moniave and 18 miles from Dumfries. This is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday with your horse exploring waymarked tracks on the 5000 acre farm and the surrounding area. Well behaved dogs are welcome.

For the Horses
One of the farm buildings has just been converted into four new 12 by 12 stables. There is plenty of good quality grazing and paddocks can be set up to accommodate a total of 20 horses Some of the fencing is rylock netting and this will be taped off with electric fencing. There is a covered area for saddling up and space for tack. Bedding, hay and feed can be provided. Price range: From £10 per horse per day.

For the People
Charming self-catering holiday cottage and 'Bed & Breakfast' accommodation ideal for a week's let or a B&B short break. The holiday cottage accommodation is based in a separate wing of the Country House and consists of 1 double bedroom and 2 twin rooms, each comfortably decorated and well proportioned. The cottage comprises a well equipped kitchen, dining room, sitting room and games room. The layout of the wing makes it a cosy B&B stay for 2 people, as well as having ample space for more guests. Price range: B&B £28, cottage £375 - £500 per week.

Riding Opportunities
Explore a good choice of waymarked tracks on the 5000 acre farm or ride along quiet single track roads to small towns like Castle Douglas. Follow the route of the hunt to Moniave or try out woodland tracks in the surrounding area. There are also some x-country jumps on the neighbouring farm.

Directions
From Moniaive turn sharp left at Criagdarroch Hotel, follow road for 3miles and enter Auchencheyne on the left side and follow drive up to main house on the right.
