Correen Stables by Blackthorn Cottage‘Correen Stables by Blackthorn Cottage’ is a venture between neighbours to offer 1st class accommodation for horses and riders. Our modern stables and comfortable and beautifully renovated traditional Irish cottage offer all that is required for a self-catering holiday for 2 or 3 people and your horses in a rural area at the gateway to the world-renowned Glens of Antrim.
For the horses We provide modern stables with automatic drinkers and rubber matting throughout. A 30m x 60m floodlit all-weather arena with dressage markers and show jumps. 24 hour CCTV, a secure alarmed tack room and fire detection system throughout. Correen Stables is owned and managed by an international 3-day event rider. For people Blackthorn Cottage sits in a tree-lined garden next to Correen Stables. This 4 star cottage has a large double (or twin) bedroom, a small room with a sofa bed for a 3rd person, a large well-equipped kitchen and an airy light-filled sitting room. Private parking, garden furniture and BBQ, TV, CD player, books and games. Riding Opportunities Use of floodlit all weather arena (fibre/sand surface) miles of hacking on quiet country roads. We are at the centre of Mid-Antrim Hunt country and less than 20 miles from outstanding cross-country schooling facilities at Dirraw Farm www.dirrawfarm.co.uk Directions From Belfast take M2 north, join A26, rejoin M2 and take 1st exit (Brongshane). Turn right at T-junction. Turn left in Brongshane at mini roundabout (Knockan Road), turn right into Knowehead Road and continue for 2 miles.
