Highland Horse Holidays

Bring your horse and family on holiday to the Outdoor Capital of the UK! Enjoy magnificent views to the Glencoe mountain range from your bedroom window. Ride and explore enchanting forest trails throughout Lochaber. Capture spectacular scenery of Ben Nevis, Glencoe and other notorious Lochs and Glens in the area. We provide onsite accommodation for both horse and rider. We also offer a full livery service which allows guests to go on daytrips and sightseeing tours with the rest of the family, having peace of mind their horse is being catered for.

For the Horses
  • 3 brand new 12x12 purpose built stables
  • Full livery service
  • Good quality grazing
  • Horses are turned out individually in electric fenced paddocks
  • We can accommodate 3 horses (stabled overnight)
  • Secure parking for trailers and lorries
  • Secure storage for tack
  • Shavings/hay/haylage and basic hard feed (chaff/sugarbeet) provided
  • Price range: From £15 per horse per night

For the People
Enjoy watching your horse grazing while you have your own breakfast. The stables are only a 20 second walk away. Garradh Mhor B&B is a comfortable family home with 1 double/family and 1 twin room, both with en-suite facilities, tea/coffee making facilities and TV. Its setting is unique with spectacular views of the surrounding mountain range. Fantastic central base for exploring all outdoor pursuits in Lochaber, including a nine hole golf course and hill walking/climbing on its doorstep. Enjoy a day up on the cable car in the Nevis Range or at Glencoe. Good choice of quality restaurants nearby, including Loch Leven Shell Fish restaurant. Price: From £25 per person per night.

Riding Opportunities
There are several rides all within a short distance by trailer/horsebox (horses need to be transported to start of trails as A82 too busy for hacking). Glenahulish horseshoe trail (5 minutes away) - spectacular views of Loch Leven, Loch Linnhe and the Pap of Glencoe. Glenduror - several routes, all steeped in history of the infamous 'James of the Glen'. Inchree - a couple of routes with lovely scenery within the forest of Inchree, where you are riding on the road General Wade built in the 18th century.

Directions
Situated just off the A82 in village of North Ballachulish. Just 3 miles north of Glencoe and 11 miles south of Fort William. Coming from Ballachulish drive across bridge, pass single track road on your right and turn right just before church and road curveing to left. From Fort William turn left just after church on your left. Approx 2 hours from Stirling, Glasgow and Inverness.
