The UK's first quality assured B&B for Horses

Borlum Farm Drumnadrochit

Loch Ness Riding Trail

400 acres, a large indoor school, two outdoor schools, on the shores of Loch Ness and only 20 minutes outside Inverness! This family run business has been offering a quality horse riding experience since 1963.  We are a BHS approved Examination centre, so can offer instruction if you require, and we have wonderful trails for you to follow.  All our trails are marked on maps for your use, and provide a really varied experience - you can ride over the hills, or even paddle or swim in Loch Ness!

For the Horses

We can provide spacious stables with rubber matting and an automatic drinking system, or full turn-out if you wish.  We have a Geltrac surface in our indoor school, rubber chips in the outdoor manege and an excellent jumping surface in our all-weather jumping arena.  Free use of the indoor and outdoor schools is available whenever available, together with ride outs on our own land and neighbouring farms as we have excellent relationships which provide superb hacking opportunities.  Secure storage for tack is available, together with parking for your trailer or box.

For the People

Surroundings

We are thrilled to be able to offer you four traditionally built self catering cottages, all overlooking Loch Ness.  MacNeill's Cottage, Larch Cottage, Creag nah Iolaire and Marnie's Croft are all situated just outside Drumnadrochit in an absolutely stunning location with views over the Loch.  Alternative accommodation is available for individuals or groups either catered, self-catering or on our campsite.  It really is a wonderful place to stay, and the location is second to none.

Riding Opportunities

We have excellent off-road riding, from short hacks to all-day picnic rides, and can provide maps for the adventurous - or an escort if orienteering is not your strong point.  Tuition is available in dressage. show jumping, and BHS Trec to suit novices or more experienced riders.   We have over 30 well-schooled horses and ponies so you may wish to experience training or hacking on one of our horses rather than just your own.
