A warm welcome awaits you and your horse at family run Garrett Lee Farm overlooking the Northumberland National Park. This 500-acre cattle and sheep farm is set in beautiful, tranquil scenery surrounded by Simonside Hills and the green rolling hills of the Cheviots. There’s a great choice of rides with a public bridleway passing through the farm and 3/5 mile circular rides on its doorstep. Or try out the on-farm cross-country course with 28 fences. Just saddle up and enjoy!

For the Horses

Three spacious loose boxes in view of your accommodation, a lovely stone built self-catering cottage. You can hear your trusty steed munching his breakfast while you have yours in the garden! The second cottage overlooks one of the paddocks. Choose from four paddocks with sixteen acres of grazing in total. The paddocks are fenced with Rylock netting, please bring your own electric fencing if you prefer. Hay/haylage and straw bedding always available. Secure tack storage. Large car park for trailers/lorries. Cost per week: grazing £20/stabling £45.

For the People

Two traditional stone built self-catering cottages full of character with wooden beams and furnished to a high standard (VisitBritain 4 Star). Cottages are spacious with large living room/kitchen area and two double/one twin room each sleeping 7/8 max. Both have modern appliances with central heating and double-glazing. Cottages can be rented for a week or short breaks. Shopping basket service and luggage transfer. Cost per week: £250 - £450.

Riding Opportunities

Garrett Lee Farm is situated right on public bridleway No 2 and a 3-mile and 5-mile circular ride. Lots of other bridleways and routes nearby including way marked rides within Northumberland National Park. Northumberland coastline is 25-minute drive away. On-farm cross-country course with 28 fences including 3 waters and good variety of schooling jumps (reversible course). Cost: £15 half day.

12 miles north of Newcastle and 4 miles north of A1/A697. At Longhorsley village, head west at crossroads. After 1 mile with caravan park facing turn right at sharp curve. Taking every left fork for 3 miles will bring you right into farmyard.
