A warm welcome awaits you and your horse at Lochhill Equestrian. Situated in the rolling Galloway Hills with stunning views and easy access from the A75. Ample parking for lorry or trailer on the yard.

For the Horses

A choice of light airy boxes with automatic water bowls to cater for up to 6 horses, some in a very quiet part of the yard. You can also choose between 5 small grazing paddocks to share with a travelling companion or graze alone but always with other horses in sight. Use of small indoor lungeing arena and outside arena with jumps. After your ride your horse will welcome the wash down facilities. Secure tack room, basic feed, hay and straw bedding available. Special requirements by arrangement.

For the People

A really well equipped self catering cottage (one of 4) with En-Suite bathroom, oil fired central heating and electric fire for those autumn nights and walls so thick you can sit in the window ledges to admire the view. For those who do not want to cook, Lochhill offers breakfast and Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas have a good choice for evening meals or make use of the courtyard barbeque.

Riding Opportunities

Hacking on farm tracks leading to quiet lanes and into the forestry. Lochhill staff will help you plan your routes, either from the farm or further into the Galloway Forest Park. Enjoy superb scenery overlooking the valley and as you climb higher, views over Kirkcudbright Bay and along the coast. Expect to see red deer and birds of prey like Red Kite in the forest.

Opportunity to go carriage driving near Lochhill or by the sea at Kirkcudbright in summer. Family members can have a lesson or hack out from this BHS Approved establishment.
