The UK's first quality assured B&B for Horses

Low Plain Farmhouse

Low Plain Farmhouse is an 18th Century farmhouse in a commanding position overlooking the Lyth Valley.  We have three luxury en-suite bedrooms with large iron beds.  We also offer a spacious lounge with exposed beams and an open fire.

For the Horses

We offer four stables including hay, bedding and we even muck out for you - after all, it's meant to be a real holiday!  This is great value at £10 per night per horse.  We also have thirteen acres of paddock for turnout, but please bring your own electric fencing to make up your own corral.  There is plenty of private parking for cars, trailers, etc.

For the People

We have three very individual bedrooms from £35 per person per night, with beautiful views to the surrounding countryside, and overlooking the grazing paddocks.  We offer a very filling traditional breakfast, or our speciality of poached egg and smoked salmon on crumpet loaf.  We can also provide you with packed lunches, light snacks or afternoon tea on the lawn.

Riding Opportunities

We have plenty of bridle paths and quiet country roads leading to Bowness on Windermere, or you can head in the opposite direction towards the seaside, and lovely beach rides.  We are very happy to help with routes so you can get the type of riding you want.
