Millhill Farm is a luxury farmhouse B&B sitting high above the Cargen Glen two miles west of Dumfries. Enjoy superb views up the Nith Valley towards Moniaive, Thornhill and the Lowther Hills on this small working farm with free range British saddleback pigs, beef cattle and sheep. Your hostess is an accomplished horsewoman and will look after your horse's every need. Just sit back and relax!

For the Horses

Choose from four stables (11' by 13') in brand new American Barn and one larger box ( 15' by 11'). 15 acres of grazing is available split into six paddocks. Six horses can be accommodated stabled and six grazing only. Good quality straw, hay and haylage available all year. Lockable tack room and plenty of secure parking for trailers and lorries. BHSAI supervised private yard. Full livery available. Ideal for stop-overs, handy for A75. Price range: From £5 - £15 per horse per night.

For the People

Two luxurious and comfortable double rooms with en-suite facilities and beautiful views down the valley (VisitScotland 4 Star). Visitors can enjoy their own dining room with wood burning stove and garden area. Home-made full Scottish breakfast made with our own bacon, sausages and free range eggs. Evening meals by arrangement with locally produced high quality ingredients. Price range: B&B £35 per person per night.

Riding Opportunities

Ideally situated to explore Dumfries & Galloway on horseback with good riding on quiet lanes and tracks with excellent views. Close to 7Stanes cycling and horse riding in Mabie, Ae or Dalbeattie Forests or an easy journey for a beach ride at Southerness. Take a picnic ride along the cycle route to see the life size Henry Moore Sculptures in the tranquil setting of Glenkiln Reservoir. Hunting trips available in season.
