The UK's first quality assured B&B for Horses

Mount Lothian Farm

The beautiful Moorfoot and Pentland hills surround this 700-acre working stock farm. The Mount Lothian Trail, one of the Tyne Esk circular rides, passes right next to the farm. The farmer runs a small livery yard and visiting horses will be kept in separate fields.

For the Horses

There are acres of clean grazing and each horse can have its own designated paddock, which is electric fenced. There is a stable block with 9 large boxes for the livery horses and a new stable block is being built to be ready for spring 2007. A large outdoor arena is also available. Straw, hay and haylage always available. Plenty of parking space for trailers and lorries and secure storage. Price range: From £10 per horse per night.

For the People

Farmer happy to recommend local B&Bs about 1.5 miles away from the farm or in Penicuik. Two people can be accommodated in a twin room in the farmhouse.

Riding Opportunities

Right on the Mount Lothian Trail with beautiful views to the Moorfoot and Pentland hills. The Mount Lothian Trail links up to other circular rides of the Tyne Esk Trails. You can park at the farm if you want to come for a day ride. Miles of off-road hacking on 700-acre farm.
