Weston FarmWeston Farm is a Soil Association certified 900 acre organic stock farm breeding and producing pedigree Beef Shorthorns and situated at the southernmost tip of the Pentland Hills Regional Park. It's well off the beaten track while remaining within easy driving distance of Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders, making it ideally situated not only for holidays, local events and the Borders Festival of the Horse but also for national events such as the Edinburgh Festival and the Royal Highland Show.
For the Horse We have excellent grazing and fields can be divided into paddocks for individuals, pairs or groups of horses with electric fencing as appropriate. We will never introduce visitors' horses into our own herd as this would only be to invite trouble! If stabling is required, there are various options to choose from, depending on availability or suitability. We have two adjoining 10' x 16' traditional stone stables with cobbled floors and one 12' x 16' next door to them. We also have three modern 12' x 12' partitioned boxes within a newly constructed barn. We use straw bedding but shavings can be made available with prior notice and at an extra charge. Good quality hay and home grown haylage is available and included in the price where required. We can also supply hard feed on request - we usually have a reasonable range but please let us know if there is a feed you prefer. There are lights in all the stables, easily accessible taps, tying up and horse wash facilities. The tack room is in the house and grooming kits are available. For people We have four comfortable, spacious and characterful double rooms available for guests, each overlooking the garden and with spectacular views across the Medwyn Valley. The rooms are decorated and furnished in traditional country style and the beds and bedding are of a very high quality, with feather and down duvets, plenty of good pillows and pure cotton bed linen. All the beds have electric blankets and the rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and radio alarm clocks - as well as wonderful views across the valley to the hills beyond. Riding Opportunities The south Pentland hills and the northern Scottish Borders remain relatively undeveloped and unexplored areas for riders but provide the opportunity for experiencing some fantastic riding and the farm is an ideal base for a range of different abilities and ambitions. Directions Weston Farm, Dunsyre is located in the most central part of Central Scotland and roughly equidistant from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
